Budgeting for 2012 Commercial Real Estate
Developing a well thought-out budget is a simple concept but not as easily executed - preparing a budget can be quite a challenge. Fortunately, you don't have to face this challenge alone. A property manager can help alleviate budget stresses by offering expertise and assistance to review:
- Vendor contracts to see if fees could possibly be lowered
- Last year's expenses to set a 2012 budget based on actual numbers
- Tenant leases to make sure increases and appropriate expenses are being paid by the tenant or landlord
- Appeals for solid waste and county taxes to ensure they are filed in a timely manner
Remember, be realistic when preparing your budget and set targets that you expect to achieve. And don't be afraid to ask for help.
